Digital PATTERN - 14" Chubby Cheek Bear
Digital PATTERN - 14" Chubby Cheek Bear
Have you always loved teddy bears, and thought that you might like have a go at making one of your own??? Then why not give one of these guys a go!?
[THE STATS:]
This design is something very different for us here at Emma's Bears. We've designed a bear that can be made either jointed or unjointed. He has a sewn-in nose (so no nose embroidering!), he has a fabric face (so no fur trimming/sculpting!), his ears are sewn into the head during assembly (so no having to line them up and sew them in place after he's stuffed), and he has a designated place just for his eyes so they are easy to insert and can be safety eyes or glass eyes.
All of these tricky steps help to make the process a little more fool-proof, and mean you can get effective results in a quicker time frame. This would be a good pattern to make if you've tried traditional teddy patterns and would like to bypass those final finishing details.
To make this bear you will need:
* 1/4m piece of the dark coloured fur
* 1/8m piece of the light coloured fur
* 1 piece (at least a 1/16m) of light coloured faux suede or polar fleece fabric
* 1 tiny scrap of dark coloured faux suede or polar fleece fabric (about 1" x 1")
* 7-10mm black safety eyes or black glass eyes
* approx 150-300g of stuffing (depending on how firmly you fill the bear)
* approx 50-100g of bead weights (if desired)
* fine embroidery thread for nose/paw detail.
* 40mm joint set (if making him jointed)
(ALL of these items can be purchased separately in our store, or you can request a kit to be made up)
Suitable for beginner - intermediate bear making skills as a lot of the tricky steps have been designed out, but you will find some fiddly pieces to sew and some darts/inserts. The instructions have had to be a little more detailed and complicated as well to cover all of the fiddly steps.
Comes with simplified, step by step instructions and photo of the finished bear for reference.
All pieces are at correct size - no enlarging or reducing required.
[DISCLAIMER]
All patterns are copied exactly from my personal stock and have been hand drawn and designed by me. They are also my well loved designs and have been tested on numerous occasions - So i know that they work! Seam allowances, openings. fur directions etc have been pre-marked on the pieces.
I am also totally ok with any bears made from my patterns being re-sold. Just reference the use of my pattern when describing/tagging the bear.
*** Please note that the bears in the photos are simply examples of the many different bears i have made using this pattern and are not included in the sale ***
